In 2021 you can’t be too careful with what you let your children watch. With social engineering agendas infiltrating kids programs from Disney to PBS it can be tough to find something for your child to watch that you feel good about. Below is a list of five favorites in our household.

VeggieTales: Bob and Larry are a favorite in our house. I do not recommend every single one but overall I absolutely do! They contain wonderful lessons. One of my favorites is Gideon Tuba Warrior. It opens with a mini episode covering the life and faith of George Muller and then goes on to a re-imagined telling of the account of Gideon focusing on trusting God.

Wild Kratts: A PBS program, Wild Kratts is one of the few secular programs we let our son watch. The Kratt brothers open the show talking about certain wildlife creatures or environments and then suggest “what if” they could explore it as one of the creatures at which point the animated part of the show begins. The cartoon characters are able to use “creature power suits” to transform into a version of the creatures they are studying and get a close up look at how they live and why they are special. Once again I don’t recommend every episode but many of them are great for learning.

The Animated Adventures of Bibleman: Bibleman, a superhero that uses the sword of the spirit, the word of God, to defeat villains such as the “shadow of doubt”. Scripture and a Bible story are a part of every episode. A superhero you can feel good about your child looking up to.

The Wonderful World of Benjamin Cello: Produced by the Annie Moses Band Family, Benjamin Cello has a similar format to Mister Rogers with a lot of great quality music and great biblical content. Benjamin Cello takes you to “the Land of the Baptized Imagination” to meet with his friends Lolly Popular, the Cheerful Chums, Professor Wordsworth and Cowboy Roy as they sing and discuss biblical truth. It’s a lot of fun and a nice departure from animation.

Owlegories: Adorable and fun the little owls in Professor Owlfred’s class study how various things are like God and his word. There’s lots of great lessons in this fun little cartoon. Each episode concludes with a lesson from an adult to discuss what was learned. My son is generally not too interested in this part (he’s only 3) but he did like the one presented by “Uncle Si” of Duck Commander. ***Bonus Show***

Superbook: My son’s latest favorite and I love it too. Friends Chris and Joy and Chris’ robot Gizzmo journey with Superbook back in time to events in the Bible to learn life lessons. Excellent show produced by CBN.
